I’m a Québec-based painter and visual artist working under the name Melisss, a signature that embodies inner grounding, sensory impact, and directional energy.
A free creative space where gesture becomes language, and each work acts as a living membrane between the intimate and the outer world, between what longs to be expressed and what is ready to be received.
 

My practice is instinctive, textured, alive.
I explore what transforms within us: reconstruction, ambivalence, the drive toward alignment.
Painting allows me to gather what would otherwise remain undefined, to shape a tension, a pulse, an impulse seeking form.
 

Building is my priority. Weaving continuity, just as much.
Capturing what moves through me, channeling the unseen, giving it form is what supports the framework of my approach.
My canvases emerge from a slow interplay of maturation and sudden sparks, layer after layer, until balance reveals itself.
 

An expressive art in dialogue
 

I favor a free, deliberately raw style, a direct relationship with matter.
I paint mainly with acrylics on gallery-depth canvases, a medium I’ve chosen for its flexibility, its immediacy, its ability to follow the movement without resistance.
 

My creative path unfolds through a cross-process approach, where each piece moves through several stages before reaching its final state.
It all begins with charcoal, an organic motion that captures the essence of an emotion or an inner thread.
These sketches then become material for digital exploration, a space for expansion and recomposition where I shift, overlay, rearrange until a sense of fluid coherence emerges.
This intermediate phase allows me to extend the initial gesture into a free visual reflection, somewhere between control and release.
 

Acrylic painting brings closure to that composed, carefully articulated path, in a more reactive intensity, a frank and immediate gesture that crystallizes the moment.
Every detour, every unexpected turn in the process becomes a transformative force, a silent revelation enriching the trajectory.
 

My studio remains my anchor within this cycle, a place of presence, movement, and transformation.
My works converse with the space; they breathe, they resonate, they leave a trace.
I seek to shape more than an image: a point of contact, a spark of reflection, reconnection, or shift.

Each piece I release is completed with care: varnished, framed, equipped for hanging, and ready to inhabit its new space.
Some belong to evolving series designed to move through different states of awareness or open multiple readings.
Others hold the memory of pivotal moments in my path, now kept as archives.

 

My original paintings remain at the heart of my practice, unique acrylic pieces where every gesture is grounded in the material and carries a trace of the living.
Some artworks extend their journey as fine art digital prints on canvas, released in limited editions : a way of inhabiting my work differently, while staying true to the same standard of quality and coherence that guides each piece I create.
Alongside them, my 12×18 in open-edition fine art mini prints and art stickers offer an accessible entry point to meaningful works, for those who wish to surround themselves with beauty at a gentle price.
Finally, my limited-edition art puzzles embody that same intention: turning the artistic gesture into a tangible, intimate, and lasting experience.

My path is rooted in applied psychology, the search for meaning, and individual responsibility, foundations that shape both the way I create and the way I relate.

I’ve had the opportunity to help other creators reveal their visual essence.
Orchestrating ideas, giving direction to intention, building a cohesive universe are all part of my DNA and continue to inform the way I compose, perceive, and share.
